Bill was born in Sioux City, IA, to Harley and Marge Schumacher on August 21, 1961. Bill had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures and making others feel valued. He was a mentor to many as he volunteered for twenty-four years with the Alcoholics Anonymous program. Bill also enjoyed hosting foreign exchange students over the past eight years. In his free time, he enjoyed camping and being outside with his family and friends. He was an amazing gardener and always enjoyed sharing his produce with everyone he loved. Bill was a mill operator at the Dehy Alfalfa Mill in Lyons, NE for about forty-two years, four years of that time he worked in Ecuador as a shrimp mill operator. He was a master of many things and always loved sharing and teaching with anyone who wanted to learn, along with always being so quick with a joke or a comment to leave you laughing.
Bill was a beloved son, a devoted brother, a cherished uncle, and a loyal friend to many. Known for his kind heart, warm smile, and generous spirit, he touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His presence brought comfort, his laughter brought joy, and his wisdom guided those around him.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Marge Schumacher, of Rosalie, NE; brothers, David Schumacher, of Rosalie, NE, Tony Schumacher, of Sioux City, IA, John (April) Schumacher, of Pender, NE. He had three nieces, two nephews, one great niece, and one great nephew, along with many aunts, uncles, and friends who will miss him deeply.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, Harley Schumacher; and brother, Brien Schumacher.
Though he may no longer be with us in person, Bill will live on in the stories we tell, the memories we cherish, and the love he gave so freely.
