Todd M. Woten

Todd Michael Woten, 66, of Walthill, died on December 10, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home. The memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. The memorial service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Walthill, NE. The inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, NE. Lunch will follow the burial at the Walthill Fire Hall. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Todd was born on November 4, 1959, in Pender, NE to Richard, Sr. and Carol (Warnock) Woten. Todd was the youngest of three children. He was confirmed in his faith in May of 1973, at First United Methodist Church in Walthill. Todd was active in the high school choir and band. He enjoyed playing baseball while attending Walthill High School and he graduated in 1978. He continued his education by attending Western Iowa Tech, studying music and instrument restoration.

Todd started his career in Omaha, NE, working at a music store where he taught music lessons and repaired instruments. He had a great sense of pride in the Walthill community. He moved back to Walthill and started working at Goldenrod Hills. Todd would spend countless hours doing community service around Walthill. He would clean up abandoned lots, pick up trash around town, and help mow and maintain unattended lawns. Todd finished his working career at Walthill School, where he served as the custodian for 23 years, before retiring.

In his spare time, Todd enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, who referred to him as “Hapa”. Todd had a love-hate relationship with his dogs, but at the end of each day he would love them until he fell asleep. Todd was an avid Nebraska Huskers fan and loved attending as many Walthill Blujays events as possible.

Todd is survived by his daughter, Hannah (Charles) Saunsoci of Walthill, NE; sister, Robin Snyder of Rosalie, NE; grandchildren, Dominic Johnson, Emberlynn Saunsoci-Free, Alec Saunsoci, Hope Saunsoci, Mila Saunsoci-Free, Claudia Free, Milani Saunsoci; and many nieces and nephews.

Todd is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Clarissah Woten; brother, Richard Woten, Jr.; and brother-in-law, John Snyder.
