Sharleen Kae Smith

Sharleen Kae (Schuppan) Smith, 71, of Sioux City, IA, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at her home in Sioux City, IA. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Concord, NE, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A memorial graveside service will be Friday, July 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, NE.

Sharleen was born on March 21, 1954, to George and Jennie (Teal) Schuppan in Winner, SD. Sharleen was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on February 2, 1977, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concord, NE. She attended and graduated from Concord High School and continued her education, earning an associate's degree. On July 3, 1973, Sharleen married Alan L. Smith in Elk Point, SD. The couple made their home in Sioux City. After Alan’s death in 2017, she continued to live in her home.

Sharleen is survived by a special friend, David Miller of Sioux City, IA; her son, Terry (Stephanie) Smith; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marvel Carter, Dixie Archer; and aunt, Evalera Burnham.

Sharleen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alan L. Smith; daughter, Cheryl L. Smith; stepfather, Cecil Fullington; sister, Georgine Cutson; brother, Daryl Schuppan.
