Mary Lundahl, 81, of rural Wakefield, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, NE. Private family services will be held. Memorials are suggested to Salem Lutheran Church and the Wakefield Fire and Rescue. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh–Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Mary was born on September 28, 1944, in Wayne, NE, the daughter of William “Buck” and Dorothy (Sar) Driskell. She grew up in the Wakefield area. She attended District One Country School before graduating from Wakefield High School in 1962. She attended business school in Omaha before returning back to Wakefield. Mary was united in marriage to LeVern Lundahl at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield on March 21, 1964. To this union, two sons were born, Mark and Brian. She worked for a short time in Sioux City at the Stockyard Bank before working at Larson-Kuns Department Store in Wayne. She also worked as a secretary for the Wakefield Public School and the Wakefield Hospital. Mary enjoyed being outside. She kept herself busy mowing, tree trimming, working with livestock, and running the grain cart during harvest.
Mary is survived by her husband, LeVern of Wakefield; sons, Mark and Virginia Lundahl, and Brian and Sherri Lundahl of Wakefield; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Marcia (Bob) Cook of Omaha, NE; brother, Rick Driskell of Wakefield, NE; brother-in-law Earl (Joyce) Lundahl, and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Regina Lundahl; sister-in-law, Sandy Driskell; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnne and Andy Jackson; and a brother-in-law, LeRoy Lundahl.
