Mark L. Lingle

February 19, 1959 — April 10, 2026

Mark Lingle, a dedicated family man, skilled electrician, and lifelong outdoorsman, passed away on April 10, 2026, at the age of 67. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE.

Mark was born on February 19, 1959, in Marietta, GA, to Darwin Lingle and Reta (Adams) Lingle. Growing up in Sioux City, IA, alongside his brother and sister, Mark developed a grit and curiosity that would define his life. After earning his Associate’s degree from Western Iowa Tech, he spent over 20 years as a proud electrician with the IBEW Local 22.

Beyond his professional life, Mark was most at home in nature. Whether he was hunting or fishing, he found happiness in the outdoors. However, his truest passion began at the age of seven: raising pigeons. Alongside two lifelong friends, Doug Christiansen and Mike Beavers, Mark became a respected showman within the American Show Racers. His expertise as a birdsman was well-known, but his love for animals didn’t stop there. Mark enjoyed raising a variety of small and exotic animals, a hobby that provided endless entertainment and "critter stories" for his children and grandchildren over the years.

On October 20, 1984, Mark married Pam Hansen, and they welcomed a son, Trent, and a daughter, Devin. Mark was a proud father, but he found a special kind of joy in his later years as "Papa." His seven granddaughters were a light in his life, and he never missed a chance to share his love of animals or the outdoors with them.

Mark is survived by his wife, Pam Lingle; his children, Trent Lingle and wife Natalie, and their daughters Vivienne, Claire, and Colette of Lincoln, NE; Devin Lingle and spouse Otis Parker, and their daughters Eres, Ari, Keira, and Sunnie Hinman-Parker of Bancroft, NE; and his siblings, Bret Lingle (Sue) and Darla Lingle (Mike Rogers), along with their children and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and his parents-in-law.

A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials are to be directed to the family for future designation.
