Marie (Eldred) DeBoer, 95, of Walthill, NE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in Lyons, NE. The visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE. The funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft. A cupcake and coffee reception will follow at the Bancroft Community Hall. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Lincoln, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home.
Marie was born on April 11, 1930, to Charles P. and Opal E. (Nelson) Eldred in Lincoln, NE. She graduated from high school in Lincoln in May of 1948. Marie married Dr. Ervin Leroy DeBoer on September 1, 1950, at the Havelock Alliance Church in Lincoln. Shortly after they were married, the couple moved to Boulder, CO, where Marie worked for IBM. When the couple returned to Nebraska, she started working as a Paraprofessional in the Special Education department at the Walthill Public School.
Marie liked spending time at home gardening, cooking, and baking for her family. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses and had an extravagant collection. Marie was guided by her faith and read the Bible several times, focusing on serving the Lord. She loved spending time with her family and watching their families grow.
Marie is survived by her sons, Dwight DeBoer of Albion, NE, Gerry (Kathy) DeBoer of Kansas City, MO, Brian DeBoer of Walthill, NE; 13 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Ervin DeBoer; daughter, Diane Jasa; granddaughters, Karen DeBoer, Jennifer DeBoer; sisters, Jennetta Gotchal, Doreen Bowley, and Opal Dunham.
