Marcella Benson

Marcella (Holbrook) Smith Benson, 90, of Paris, TN, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at her home in Paris, TN.  Private family graveside services will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur, NE.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.  

Marcella was born on April 1, 1935, to Raymond and Maude (Conway) Holbrook in Macy, NE.  On October 3, 1954, Marcella married Harold Smith, Sr. To this union, the couple had three children: Marcie, Deena, and Harold, Jr. After Harold, Sr. passed away, Marcella married Richard Benson on December 3, 1998.  Marcella liked being outdoors, traveling, and camping with her daughter Marcie.  She was an avid card player and enjoyed playing bridge and euchre.  

Marcella is survived by her daughters, Marcie Campbell, Deena Nelson; son, Harold Smith, Jr.; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.  

Marcella is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Maude Halbrook; husbands, Harold Smith, Sr., Richard Benson; brother, Raymond Jr.; and sisters, Dorothy and Donna.
