Lorenz Rolland Ronnenkamp, 99, of Bancroft, Nebraska, died on August 15, 2025, at Colonial Haven in Beemer. His visitation will be on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft. The funeral will be on August 19, 2025, at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.
Lorenz was born on February 23, 1926, to Wilhelm and Bertha (Tolksdorf) Ronnenkamp at the family farm north of Bancroft. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, where he was baptized and confirmed. He married Geraldine (Thiele) Ronnenkamp on April 9, 1952, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church. To this union, the couple had two sons, Dudley and Timothy. As a young man, Lorenz enjoyed working with anything that had an engine. He fell in love with tractors and cars. A love that he carried with him his entire life as he restored many antique tractors and cars. One of Lorenz’s greatest joys was singing in the church choir with the rest of his family. Singing with his wife was a passion both enjoyed for many years. Lorenz served as superintendent of the Sunday School at St. Paul’s Lutheran church for 18 years. He was also very active in men’s club and other aspects of the church. Lorenz served as the first president of the West Point Lutheran Circuit. A position he held five different times. Lorenz was a Godfather to six different people. He worked for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for 50 years. Lorenz was known for his kind, understanding, and compassionate spirit. He was loved by all who knew him.
Lorenz is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Bancroft; Dudley Ronnenkamp of St. Pete Beach, FL; Tim and Diane Ronnenkamp of Lexington, NE; and grandson Jace Ronnenkamp of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Lorenz is preceded in death by his parents, along with a sister, Margarete Ronnenkamp, and two brothers and their wives, George (Deloris) Ronnenkamp and Herb (Lydia) Ronnenkamp.
