Lois was born on August 2, 1932, in Emerson, Nebraska, to Earl and Olga Larson. After graduating from Emerson High School in 1950, she earned a Teachers Certificate from Wayne State College and taught at District 41 Country School. Lois married Verlyn Roeber at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson on May 18, 1956. They farmed together in Marcus, Iowa, then returned to rural Emerson in 1959 to be near their families. Lois was an active partner in the family farm, tending livestock and working the fields, in addition to managing household duties.

During her childhood, Lois developed a strong interest in baseball. Although opportunities for girls to participate were unavailable at the time, she consistently supported her brothers by attending their games. Lois deeply loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing dominos and, when weather allowed, croquet with her grandchildren. Always supportive, she attended their activities whenever she could. Her incredible birthday cakes and unforgettable pea salad will long be cherished.

Lois was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for over twenty years. She was also a member of the church’s altar guild and served as its financial secretary for several years. She was an avid fan of all Nebraska Cornhusker sports and attended several football games over the years.

Lois is survived by her husband, Verlyn Roeber of Emerson, NE; sons, Ron (Shirley) Roeber of Lincoln, NE, Doug (Kim) Roeber of Emerson, NE; grandchildren, Kyle (Ashley) Roeber, Todd (Jena) Roeber, Kayla (Kirk) Franco, Michelle Roeber, Jenna (Keaton) Comstock; great-grandchildren, Declan Roeber, Nolan Roeber, Callie Roeber, Emma Roeber, Theo Roeber, Owen Roeber, Aiden Franco, Brayden Sage, Liam Comstock; sister-in-law, Sandy Larson; and many nieces and nephews.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Erwin (Molly Ann) Larson, and Wilbur Larson.
