Lois M. Meyer

Lois M. (Denker) Meyer, 80, of Wayne, NE, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Providence Hospital in Wayne. Funeral services for will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wakefield, NE: Pastor William Bertrand will be officiating. The visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. Lois was born December 23, 1936 to Leonard and Twila (Sherer) Denker in Wakefield, NE. She graduated from Emerson High School in May of 1953. Lois married Gerald D. Meyer on December 9, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wakefield and the couple had three children. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church for 54 years and the Amvets Auxiliary. She loved tending to her rose bushes, completing word puzzles, cooking, and listening to polka music. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Meyer of Wayne, NE; son, Kenny (Julie) Meyer of Pender, NE; daughter, Lori Meyer of Wayne, NE; sisters, Linda (Jim) Rychly of Little Rock, AR, Judy (Gene) Voss of New Hampton, IA, Barb (Terry) Von Seggern of Emerson, NE, Jackie (Warren) Steele of Thurston, NE, Kay Denker of Wayne, NE; brothers, Roger Denker of Heyburn, IA, Don (Shelly) Denker of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Rick Denker of Hubbard, NE; grandchildren, Ashley (Toby) Rose of Thurston, NE, Kelsie Draper of Brookings, SD, Pete Lundahl of Wayne, NE; great grandchildren, Hunter, Mary, Anna, Kaysen, Maysen, and Lil’ Frankie. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; two brothers; and son, Merlin.
