Kay Lee Luedke, 90, of Bancroft, NE, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE. The visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, NE. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The burial will be at Bancroft Cemetery in Bancroft, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE.
Kay was born on October 13, 1935, on a farm in Cuming County, Nebraska to Arthur and Georgia (Dixon) Luedke. Kay attended rural grade school District 32, south of Bancroft. He also attended Bancroft High School. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft.
At the young age of 18, he was thrusted into the care and upkeep of the farm after the death of his father in 1954. He was a farmer most of his life, farming a heritage farm and living on the same farm most of his life. Kay enjoyed farm sales and activities. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying his airplanes and attended the fly-in breakfasts in the area.
Kay is survived by his sister, Carolyn Sexton of Danbury, IA; special friend, Donna Childress; nephews, Sean, Jay, and Ryan Sexton and their families, and many cousins and friends.
Kay was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Georgia Luedke and brother-in-law, Tom Sexton.
