Kathleen Plueger

Kathleen Ruth (Patefield) Plueger, 74, of Concord, NE, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln, NE. The visitation will be on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. The burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield. Lunch will follow in the Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home Community Room. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.

Kathleen was born on December 11, 1951, in Sioux City, IA, to Milo and Arlene (Hansen) Patefield. She spent her youth years in 4-H, attended Sunny Slope School near her home in Laurel. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1970 and continued her education at Kearney State College. Kathleen married Francis W. Plueger on September 3, 1972, at Logan Center Methodist Church in Laurel. They made their home on a farm near Allen, NE. Together they had 5 wonderful daughters. They spent a lot of family time together showing calves in 4-H and FFA. In 1986, the family moved to a farm near Concord, NE.

Kathleen worked at Casey’s in Dakota City, NE, Stockman’s in Sioux City, IA, Hy-Vee in Sioux City and Hardees for 16 years. She also enjoyed babysitting for three boys. Kathleen loved spending time with her family and attended as many activities as possible.

Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Renee (Rudy) De La Cruz of Columbus, NE, Sonya (Harvey) Sedahl of Sioux City, IA, Tanya Plueger of Swanton , NE, Debbie (Robert) Gregerson of Douglas, NE, Mindy (Marvin) Wiese of Fremont, NE; grandchildren, Jose De La Cruz, Makiaya De La Cruz, Sebastian De La Cruz, Kiara Wiese, Hunter Wiese (fiancé Alivya Carter), Brooke Wiese, Bridget Woodhouse; great-grandchildren, Enola, Carter, Harper, Emery, Riggin; brothers, Robert (Dorothy) Patefield, Danny (Judy) Patefield; sister, Donna Guern; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother-in-law, Paul Guern; 1 great-nephew.
