Karen J. Dahlman, 91, of Pender, NE, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Pender Community Hospital. The funeral service for Karen will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. The visitation will begin on Tuesday morning at the church at 9:30 a.m. and will run until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery near Pender. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh–Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Karen was born on September 8, 1934, in Pender, the daughter of Elmer and Martha (Witmer) Hulsebusch. She was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on November 18, 1934, and confirmed on May 16, 1948. She was united in marriage, but later divorced. To this union, four children were born: Jennifer, Cynthia, Brian, and Brad. Karen worked 36 years from September 1986 to July 2022 at Legacy Nursing Home and Prairie Breeze assisted living in Pender, where she continued to make favors for the residents each month. She enjoyed reading, crafts, embroidery, bowling, and the time she spent volunteering at Thriftique in Pender. She also had a love for her dogs, especially Punky and Snoopy. Most of all, she loved the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her children, Jennifer Tyrrell of Pender, Brian (Val) Baker of Wakefield, Brad Baker of Pender; grandchildren, Michael Tyrrell (Erika Scholtz) of Spring Hill, TN, Nicole Tyrrell-Feltes (Brian Feltes) of Pender, David Kubik of Kearney, Amanda (Jamie) Ferris of Pender, Savanna (Micah) Groteluschen of Ashland, granddaughter-in-law Kristina Baker of Pender; Trevor (Shelby) Baker of Ames, IA; great-grandchildren, Tymarie (Eric) Svenson, Emily Tyrrell (Zachary Calub), Tyler Tyrrell (Winter Houston), Courtney Tyrrell, Jared Tyrrell, Blake Feltes, Matthew, Alexis, Sadie and Chloe Ferris, Liberty and Linkin Baker, Peyton and Jaycee Groteluschen; great-great grandchildren, Kaydence, Melody, Harper, Bowyn and Boelter Svenson; Thomas, Jeremiah, Winston, Josi Tyrrell; Avianna Tyrrell; Essie, Christian and Lovella Tyrrell; Alexander and Sterling Calub, and baby girl Baker.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Cindy Kubik; son-in-law, Verne Tyrrell; grandson, Joshua Baker; and sister, Shirley Powley.
