Janet E. Frederickson

Janet Esther (Munderloh) Frederickson, 87, of Pender, NE, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield, NE. The memorial service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday morning at the church. The burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Bancroft Cemetery in Bancroft, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Janet was born on the family farm south of Bancroft on March 15, 1938, the daughter of George and Esther (Larsen) Munderloh. She was the fifth child of six. Janet was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Bancroft. She attended grade school at District 32 and graduated from Bancroft High School in 1955. On April 5, 1956, she married Don Frederickson at Elk Point, SD.Janet and Don lived in South Carolina for a short time while Don was in the service, where their first child was born. When they returned to Nebraska, they started farming east of Pender. Janet was a devoted mother and farm wife. She raised chickens, had a big garden, and did a lot of canning. She also enjoyed having coffee with the neighbor ladies. In 1986, they moved to town and Janet started working at the Pender Care Center, where she was a C.N.A. for 25 years. She later retired when Don became ill.

Janet is survived by her children, Vickie (Clifford) Heise of Bancroft, NE, Mark Frederickson of Bancroft, NE, David (Karen) Frederickson of Pender, and Terry (Lori) Frederickson of Ankeny, IA; sisters, Betty Russman of Bancroft, NE, Lois Mackey of Bancroft, NE, Pat (Duane) Evans of Beatrice, NE; grandchildren, Brenda, Sarah, Ryan, Gina, Anthony, Brittany, Cierra, Dyllon, Adam, Rachel, Taylor, Wyatt, Justin, and Ashley; 22 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; sisters, Rosella Anderson, Bernice Meyer; brother, Myron Munderloh; sister and brother-in-law’s, Odin Anderson, Wayne Meyer, John Russman, Jack and Alice Frederickson, Judy and Bob Oakley, Jane Reimers, and Jean Ott; nephews, Rick Frederickson, Rod Frederickson; and a great-granddaughter, Amelia Krahmer.
