Harriet A. Hansen

Harriet A. (Johnsen) Hansen, 96, of Wayne, NE, passed away at Kinship Pointe Assisted Living in Wayne, NE on Sunday, August 24, 2025. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.

Harriet was born in Emerson, NE on August 12, 1929, the daughter of Harry and Elsie (Bottger) Johnsen. Following her graduation from Emerson High School, she attended a one-year business college. She spent her career with Jolly Time Popcorn in Sioux City, IA in the front office. She was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City until she was united in marriage to Gordon Hansen on June 23, 2012, in South Sioux City. Gordon and Harriet enjoyed their time together dancing. Gordon died on April 23, 2023. She then moved into Kinship Pointe Assisted Living in Wayne.

Harriet is survived by a niece, Susan Rochester; grand-nieces, Dorothy Johnson and Tammy Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Elsie (Morgan) Johnsen; stepfather, Pierre Morgan; husband, Gordon Hansen; sisters, Lois Lacore and Edna Mae Johnsen; and nephew, Billy Dean Johnsen.
