Donald J. Deal, Sr.

Donald J. Deal, Sr., 93, of South Sioux City, NE, died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Heritage of Emerson in Emerson, NE.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.  Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, NE.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. 

Donald was born on December 27, 1931, in Walthill, NE, to Lawrence and Ellen (Tighe) Deal.  He attended Walthill High School in Walthill.  He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.  

Donald was a member of the American Legion 0376 in Dakota City and was active in the Eagles Club in South Sioux City.  He enjoyed meeting up with friends and having a good cup of coffee.  Donald loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  

Donald is survived by his son, Jim Deal of Weatherford, TX; daughter, Sally Kneifl of Wayne, NE; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald Deal, Jr., and 8 siblings.
