Carol A. Wageman

Carol A. Wageman, 87, of Pender, NE passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St. Joseph's Hillside Villa in West Point, NE. The visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. The funeral will be on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Pender, with Pastor Karen McNeill-Utecht officiating. The burial will take place in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, located in rural Pender. Memorials are suggested to the Orphan Grain Train in care of Carol Wageman, (PO Box 1466, Norfolk, NE 68702). Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.

Carol Ann Wageman was born September 11, 1938, to Clarence and Christine (Husman) Carstensen. Carol grew up near Merrill, Iowa, and graduated from Merrill High School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Merrill, Iowa.

Following High School, Carol worked in Sioux City at Mullin Tent and Awning. She met her future husband, Lloyd Wageman at Shore Acres Dance Hall, Riverside (Sioux City) Iowa. Lloyd and Carol were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Merrill, Iowa, May 25, 1958. After marriage the couple settled on the family farm, near Pender, Nebraska. To this union they had four children.

Carol was active in the family farm. She enjoyed bowling, and card club. Carol was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, rural Pender, Nebraska, where she was active in Ladies Aid, and served a financial role as Envelope Secretary.

Carol is survived by her husband, Lloyd Wageman; children, Pam Wageman, Doug (Laurie) Wageman, Steve (Kellie) Wageman, Mark (Dottie) Wageman; grandchildren, Kevin Wageman, Kody (Leah) Wageman, Samantha Wageman, Nicholas Wageman, Lexi Wageman, Jordan (Jacob) Ernesti, Rebecca (Grant) Dahlgren, Levi McKay; great-grandchildren, Sutton Ernesti, Harley Ernesti, Lucas Ernesti, and Cana Dahlgren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Christine Carstensen; and grandson, Kyle Wageman.
