Brad Baker

Brad Lee Baker, 67, of Pender, NE, passed away on June 16, 2026, at his home in Pender.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026 at the Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Karen McNeill -Utecht. Burial will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery rural Pender with a reception following the committal at The Other Side.

Brad was born on November 10, 1958, in Pender, the son of Darrel and Karen (Hulsebusch) Baker. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender and graduated from Pender High School with the Class of 1977. He worked several places during his career, including IBP in South Sioux City; Christiansen Construction in Pender; a hog confinement in Linn Grove, Iowa and Great Dane in Wayne

His hobbies included macramé, playing pool, collecting elephants and socializing with family and friends. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July – when he would barbecue and have fireworks for the family and the whole neighborhood watching.

Brad is survived by his son, Trevor (Shelby) Baker, and their daughter Sadie of Ames, Iowa; step-children, Chasity and Justin; sister, Jennifer Tyrrell of Pender; brother, Brian (Val) Baker of Wakefield; step-mother, Cynthia Baker of Pender; step-brothers Steve and John Shemat; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Darrel Baker and Karen Dahlman, and a nephew Joshua Baker, an sister Cynthia Kubik and brother-in-law Verne Tyrrell.
