“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” - Psalm 116:15
On November 15, 2025, Bonnie Ann (Hanson) Thompson, age 93, slipped peacefully into eternity-surrounded by love, embraced by family, and welcomed home by the Lord. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Springbank Friends Cemetery near Allen, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Born on March 6, 1932, in Hawarden, Iowa, Bonnie was the daughter of Harvey and Florence (Carlson) Hanson. From her earliest days, she carried a light that warmed every soul fortunate enough to know her. Bonnie moved through life with a heart full of compassion-soft in spirit, strong in faith, and steadfast in kindness. Her journey was woven with quiet acts of love and beautiful joys that made her who she was. She gave freely, served humbly, and loved without measure.
She graduated from Waterbury, Nebraska, later living in South Sioux City until attending church school in Minnesota, where she met the love of her life. On April 16, 1960, they were married. This union brought one treasured son, Daniel, a blessing she carried close to her heart always. Bonnie made her home in Omaha for many years. Her family fondly remembers her humor, her simple joy, and her generosity-such as collecting numerous Christmas trees and saving food in her purse when eating out.
She will be remembered tenderly by her nephews Roger (Marilyn) Isom of Sutherland, Iowa; Paul (Trish) Isom of Sutherland, Iowa; Rodney (Judy) Isom of Norfolk, Nebraska; John (Tammera) Isom of Norfolk, Nebraska; Sandi Isom of Norfolk; Tim (Elizabeth) Hanson of South Sioux City, Nebraska; Vicki Hanson of Sioux City, Iowa; and Jerry Harding of Iowa. A granddaughter, Holly Thompson of Omaha; two great-grandchildren; and cherished great-nephew Brandon Brugger-Isom; and great-nieces McKenna (Russel) Barak and Jaelin Brugger-Isom, all of Lincoln, Nebraska. Ryan Hanson of South Sioux City, Nebraska; Cody and Jody Hanson; and Tina Guevara, all of Sioux City, Iowa; and Brian Worrell of Norfolk, Nebraska.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Daniel; siblings; and several beloved family members.
She is home.
She is whole.
She is graceful.
She is loved beyond measure.
